"Bringing Local History To Life"
Enabling the public to engage with wonderful and exciting history through re-enactment
About Us
Kragfergus Living History Group was established in 2008 to -

(a) provide Heritage, Educational, Historical and Cultural resources

(b) promote and preserve the culture and heritage of our people and their traditions with particular regard for the
Carrickfergus district and its surrounding areas

(c) promote cultural confidence and civic pride, bolster the morale of our community and harness the talents of
our people

Kragfergus Living History Group, a Carrickfergus-based re-enactment group, is a constituted, voluntary, cross-
community group that is dedicated to bringing Carrickfergus history to life. Not only for the purpose of
entertainment, but also to inform and teach the general public and visitors about our wonderful and exciting
history. We re-enact across many centuries of history, from Viking through to the Victorian and Edwardian eras
plus everything in between. Besides having been primarily established to promote Carrickfergus' rich history,
Kragfergus Living History Group relishes the opportunity to do re-enactments in other towns and villages across
Northern Ireland. Kragfergus Living History Group have also organised seminars, complete with re-enactors, guest
speakers and various workshops

We are a diverse group and, with many of our members having AccessNI clearance, are ideal to provide small
groups of re-enactors for schools or large groups for weddings or anything in between. No job is too large, or too
small. For information on fees and availability, click on the Contact Us link at the top of the page

Since our formation, some of our bigger events have been in association with Mid & East Antrim Borough Council,
The NIEA, Linen Hall Library, The Ulster-Scots Agency and Carrickfergus Borough Council. We have also been to
events and worked alongside North Irish Dragoons, Oireas and Irish Arms as well as private functions and
community events

Kragfergus Living History Group are also members of The Re-enactors Guild of Northern Ireland. The Guild was set
up in 2012 and consists of many re-enactment groups throughout the country
